Properties and Benefits of Fruits and Vegetables

1) Pineapple :
The chlorine present in pineapple juice gives a gentle stimulation to the urinary bladder and flushes out the toxins from inside the body. Ripe pineapple is diuretic, anthelmintic and choleretic. It is tasty, digestive and airy, heavy to digest, beneficial for heart and beneficial in stomach problems, jaundice and pandurog. Pineapple should not be eaten on an hungry stomach. After taking out the outer peel and inner womb of the pineapple, the remaining part should be cut into pieces, after extracting its juice and drinking it. Pregnant women should not eat raw pineapple and should not use ripe pineapple too much. The fresh juice of pineapple has a soothing effect on the throat and protects against throat diseases. It proves to be very effective in diphtheria and bacterial diseases of throat and mouth.
2) Apple :
The fruit of apple is vata-biliary, nutritious, phlegm, guru, pak and sweet in juice, cool, palatable and semen enhancer. It purifies the bladder and kidneys. Due to the strength of the nerves and the brain due to the consumption of apple, it is beneficial in weakness of memory, mania, unconsciousness and irritability. It has been found to be beneficial in liver disorders and ashmari. Eating apple raw gives special benefit in chronic and incurable diseases. The peel of the apple is laxative, so the use of peelless fruits is beneficial in duodenal, diarrhoea, flatulence, and stomach ailments. Do not peel off the rind in the relief of air and constipation, apple marmalade is beneficial in diarrhea etc. Apples are rich in Vitamin ‘C’.
3) Mango :
Mango is a famous fruit. Raw mango is astringent, acid, vata, and bile and ripe mango is sweet, aliphatic, strong and soothing, guru, anti-venom, cold, astringent, fire, phlegm and semen. Amki-Manjari (Burr) is cold, tasty, receptive, rheumatic, diarrhoea, phlegm, bile, leucorrhoea, and anticoagulant. Mangoes are also eaten after being cooked in the palm, but there is less vitality in it. Drinking mango juice with milk is potent and semen enhancer. The mango used by sucking is called Rasalki. Kalmi mango is very bile karta. Excessive consumption of mangoes can lead to heartburn, asymmetrical fever, blood defects, constipation, eye diseases. So don’t eat too much mango. These defects are seen in sour or unripe mangoes. Ripe (ripe) mangoes are rich in Vitamin A and C.
4) Fig :
Young children and pregnant women should especially eat figs. This gives them power. Fresh figs are more nutritious. They remove constipation. The iron element present in the juice of fresh figs, being digestible, gets completely assimilated in the body. 5) Ginger :
In Sanskrit, ginger has been given the name of ‘Vishvaushadha’. Ginger is Vatghna, Deepak, Digestive, Sarak, Eyes, Gum and Nutritious. Due to its penetrating properties, it destroys the worms and expels them from the anus. Ginger is a great tonic for the intestines. Ginger juice is safe and free from side effects. If half an hour before the meal, three to four spoons of ginger juice mixed with a few drops of salt and a few lemons is drunk, then hunger is opened. Due to its juice, a suitable amount of digestive juices is secreted in the stomach. Due to this digestion takes place well and gas is not produced. It completely destroys cold and flu, removes disorders of the heart and pacifies all types of abdominal diseases. Ginger juice is also beneficial in diseases like inflammation, urinary disorders, jaundice, hemorrhoids, asthma, cough, dropsy etc.
Ayurveda-experts are of the opinion that regular consumption of ginger does not cause cancer of the tongue and throat.
6) Watermelon :
Nothing is better than the juice of Kalindak in the scorching heat of summer. It is cold, diuretic, strong, sweet, satiating, confirming and pittahar. The juice of Kalindak is relaxing in stomach problems and pacifies the burning sensation of the stomach. Due to the diuretic properties of Kalindak, it is beneficial in the diseases of urinary tract and urinary bladder. Its use is especially used to give peace and coolness to the body and mind. Its juice gives speed to the process of neonatal activity in the body. Drinking its juice reduces weight.
7) Hairy-Mordica, Bitter-Gourd :
Drinking a glass of bitter gourd juice on an empty stomach provides unmistakable benefits in jaundice. Bitter gourd is bitter, fiery, short, hot, penetrating, cold and nutritious. Bitter gourd is helpful in removing anorexia, phlegm, air, blood defects, fever, worm, bile, pandu and leprosy.
Grinding bitter gourd on a grater gives good benefit by drinking the juice extracted on an empty stomach. Bitter gourd is also healthier than eating it in the form of greens. 8) Melon :
No, melon juice is very beneficial in chronic scabies.
Melon is cool and diuretic. It pacifies Trisha. Its coolness in the scorching sun provides great peace. Vitamin-C is found in it.
Most of the melon is made up of water and the amount of fiber in it is negligible. Therefore, it can be consumed either in the form of juice or in the original form. Being very cold, its consumption pacifies the burning sensation of the stomach. The alkalis present in it remove the acidity of the body. It also has the properties of removing constipation, cancer, heart disease, cataract, high-blood pressure etc.
According to the opinion of Dr. Shirkor, a civil surgeon of Murshidabad (Bengal), the juice of melon is potent and diuretic and is beneficial in urinary tract diseases. The use of this fruit is also beneficial in chronic scabies.
9) Jambul (Java plum) :
Jamun is a common fruit, but it is very beneficial in diseases. There are many types of berries. (Large) Tasty, sweet, delicious, guru and small berries are receptive, dry, bile and phlegm, dosha and blood disorders and inflammatory.
Berries kernels, bark, fenugreek leaves and vinegar are used in diabetes, diarrhea, hiccups, colic, pimples, worms, colic, breathing, oral inertia, vaginal defects, mouth defects, anorexia – these diseases are good and beneficial. The powder of jamunki mengika is a boon for diabetes.
Jamun juice is very beneficial in liver diseases. In Ayurveda, Jamun has been described as a lamp, pittahar, causative agent, diuretic, varnya and receptor. Jamun is considered to be an infallible medicine for diseases of the spleen and liver. It makes the liver efficient, removes the pain of stomach. The juice of jamun is beneficial for the heart, it is beneficial in pandurog and gives us relief from the urinary tract. Jamun juice is the best medicine for the treatment of gonorrhea and diabetes. It removes dyspepsia, diarrhea, dysentery, congestion, stones, blood bile and blood dosha.
10) Papaya :
Papaya is sweet, cool and digestible. It is beneficial in digestion and urinary disorders. Papain is obtained by drying the milk of papaya by chemical method.
11) Phalsa :
Apakva Phalsa is astringent, sour, bile karting and short. Ripe Phalsa sweet, tasty, cold, satiating, affirming, beneficial to the heart, a little irritating, vipaki and craving, bile, burning, blood disorders, caries, fever, vata, bloody bile, syphilis, colic, breathing, cystitis, diarrhoea, anorexia, Beneficial in constipation, heart disease etc.
In the case of bleeding from the mouth, nose, throat, and excessive bleeding during menstruation, half chandrayan of False is given in small quantities after a cycle. In decay, two kalpas should be done in a month. During this method, nothing should be given other than milk or water. Apart from this, Phalseka juice, kernels and bark are used for good benefits by making yoga in various diseases.
12) Shore :
It (suran) is astringent, bitter, igneous, dry, itchy, phlegmatic and antipyretic. Jimikand is a diet for Arsha’s patients. Suran is considered to be the best among the tubers. It is not beneficial for patients suffering from leprosy, leprosy and blood pitta.
13) Pomegranate :
Pomegranate (anar) is sweet, astringent and acidic. In general, pomegranate is anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, receptor, fire-producing, aliphatic, nutritious for the heart, heart disease, gastritis and deodorant.
Vitamin B and C are found in it. Neuralgia, cold and pomegranate should not be eaten at night. Pomegranate juice is beneficial in diseases of the intestine, liver, stomach and throat. It is beneficial in fever, diarrhea and typhoid as a diet.
14) Mulberry :
Raw mulberry (shahtut) is guru, laxative, acid, hot, blood, bile. But ripe is said to be delicious, sweet, cool, blood-purifying, anti-convulsant, bile-depressant. There are many types of mulberry color – black, red, white and green. Mulberry leaves are fed to silkworms. If mulberry leaves are spread on the cot, then the bedbugs run away. Mulberry is often used in acidosis, blood bile, stool odor.
15) Banana :
Banana is a well-known useful fruit. Ripe banana is sweet, cold, receptive, heavy, aliphatic, phlegm-bile-blood disorder, burning, eructation and wind-destroying. Ripe banana is cool, sweet, vipaka-sweet, semen-enhancer, nourishing, palatable, meat-enhancing, appetizer, gout, eye disease, trisha, blood bile, stomach disease, heart colic, leucorrhoea and is the destroyer of heat diseases.
Banana should not be eaten before meals. Ripe banana is a good food. Banana root, rhizome, seeds, leaves, flowers in all parts have amazing benefits in various difficult diseases-urinary disorders, leucorrhoea and diarrhoea.
16) Tomatoes :
Tomato is the best food for diabetic patients and people who want to lose weight. According to Ayurveda, tomato is small, aliphatic, hot, lamp-digester, sakura, phlegm and air. Tomato juice cleanses the stomach and intestines and is also useful in urinary tract diseases. Tomato removes indigestion, air and constipation and gives relief in liver diseases. The iron element present in tomato is very digestible and gets assimilated completely in the body. It is beneficial in pandurog. Tomato soup can also be taken in fever.
17) Coconut :
Green coconut water is essential in cholera. Green coconut water is cooling, soothing, nutritive, diuretic, color corrector of urine and antipyretic. When the coconut is unripe and the womb (malai) has not formed in it, then its water is less sweet, somewhat sour or astringent, but after the formation of the inner womb, its water becomes very sweet. The sugar in coconut water gets absorbed in the body immediately. Coconut water is very safe as it is germ-free. The water of soft and green coconut contains the above mentioned elements and Prajivak. As it ripens and turns yellow, its elements get depleted. Therefore, only soft coconut water should be drunk. Fresh coconut water should be used immediately. There is a deficiency of Prajivak-seik in coconut water, but this deficiency can be overcome by adding lemon juice.
Coconut diuretics are very effective in urinary problems and stones. It is also very useful in cholera. In cholera, due to diarrhea and vomiting, there is a lack of water and alkali in the body, as a result of which there can be a threat to life. In such a situation, the body gets the necessary water and alkali from coconut water.
18) Sweet Lemon :
Drinking Sweet lemon juice increases vitality and immunity against diseases. Mousambi is sweet, delicious, cool, tarpak, thirsty, refreshing, guru, rain, nourishing, metallic and receptive. It is beneficial in Vata, Pitta, Kapha, vomiting, blood diseases and anorexia. Sweet lemon has alkali element which lowers the acidity of the blood. When other food cannot be taken in fever etc., then the juice of Mausambika is very beneficial to maintain strength and nourish the body. Its juice reduces the acidity of the stomach, increases appetite and cures digestive problems.
19) Turmeric :
Turmeric (kachhi haldi) has the power to stimulate the liver and make it strong and has the property of purifying the blood. According to Ayurveda, turmeric is bitter, pungent, hot, deepan, worming, purification, phlegm, purulent, air-repellent, dry, ulcer-reducing and anti-inflammatory. It is useful in cold, wind, blood defects, leprosy, prameha, kandu, ulcer, dermatosis, swelling, pandurog, pinus, anorexia etc.
Consuming fresh turmeric juice or drinking turmeric powder mixed with hot milk provides definite benefits in cold, cough and pain.
20) Coriander :
Green Coriander (Hara dhaniya) is fragrant, tasty, digestive, cooling and choleretic. Finely chop green coriander and put it in lentils, greens and other substances, the substances become fragrant and tasty. It is also used for making chutney. But drinking its juice has special benefits. Due to the presence of Prajivak-A in green coriander, it is especially beneficial for the stomach and eyes.
21) Amaranth :
Choulai is sweet, cool, tasty, igniting, diuretic. Plenty of iron elements are present in it. Drinking raw juice gives its full benefits.
22) Spinach :
Spinach is somewhat pungent, sweet, nutritious and cool. It destroys blood bile, phlegm, breath and toxins. Its juice is diuretic.
23) Lemon :
- There are about ten-eleven species of nimbu. Generally lemon is acidic, carminative, lamp, digestive and small. Sweet lemon is heavy, trisha and vomit, vata-pittle destroyer and strong.
- Bijoura Lime is astringent, breath, anorexia, blood bile and antiarrhythmic.
- Grapefruit lemon is delicious, tasty, cold, heavy and anti-blood, caries, shortness of breath, goosebumps, hiccups and confusion.
- Jambiri lemon is hot, guru, acid and vata-kapha-defects, feces, colic, cough, vomiting, trisha, rheumatism, eructation of the mouth, pain of heart, retardation of fire and anthelmintic.
- Lemon is consume in many diseases. The seeds, flowers, roots, etc. of lemon are also having various properties.
